Here are some questions with responses that will hopefully help you understand the comprehensive services we provide.
What services do you provide? At Advanced Voice Therapy we primarily focus on voice and voice disorders but we also provide services for fluency and speech disorders as well. We offer individual and group appointments to clients of all ages. Services are available in office and virtually.
What are your fees?
Consultation: Free – to answer any questions and determine if Advanced Voice Therapy YXE is a good fit for you.
Assessment: $150
Treatment (45 min): $115 (40 min therapy / 5 min documentation)
(30 min): $ 80 (25 min therapy / 5 minutes documentation)
A formal report is not included. A report can be provided at an additional cost of $80 as it typically takes 30 minutes to write a report.
Your Saskatchewan Health Services card does not cover private speech therapy services. However, many health insurance plans will cover speech language pathology services. Contact your insurance provide to see what coverage you have and if a physician’s referral is required.
What are my payment options? Accepted payment options: cash, cheque (payable to Advanced Voice Therapy YXE) debit, and credit card. A receipt will be provided.
Each session must be paid for in full at the time of the appointment. There will be a $20.00 NSF fee for all cancelled cheques.
What if I miss a session: We understand that circumstances may arise that require you to cancel or reschedule your appointment. However, missed appointments and late cancellations not only affect our ability to serve you effectively but also impact other clients who are waiting to access our services.
Cancellations made less that 24 before the schedule appointment and missed appointments will be charged the full cost of the appointment. For example, $150 for assessments; $115 or $80 depending on duration of treatment.
**Fees for late cancellations and no-shows will be billed directly to the client and are payable prior to scheduling future appointments.
What experience does my therapist have? The therapist brings 30 years of experience with 24 of those specializing in voice and voice disorders.
She holds C-SASK (provincial), SAC (Canadian), and ASHA (American) certification
How do you protect my information? At Advanced Voice Therapy YXE we are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring the confidentiality of your personal information. We also carry Professional and Commercial Liability Insurance.
What can I expect at my first session?
Voice. You will be asked to complete some questionnaires while you are waiting to see your therapist. Your appointment with begin with your therapist asking you a number of questions to understand your voice and medical history. A physical examination and acoustic analysis using specialized equipment will be completed to get a complete understanding of your vocal function and help tailor your treatment.
Fluency. You will be asked to complete some questionnaires while you are waiting to see your therapist. Your appointment with begin with your therapist asking you a number of questions to understand your history. A fluency assessment will be completed which involves recording various speaking tasks used to analyze your fluency.
Speech. You will be asked to complete some questionnaires while you are waiting to see your therapist. Your appointment with begin with your therapist asking you a number of questions to understand your history. An oral mechanism assessment and speech assessment will be completed to as function.
What can I expect in terms of treatment Therapy is typically tailored to the specific needs and goals of each individual patient. Treatment sessions are typically 45 minutes in duration. At the end of each session you will receive an email with treatment goals and home programming.
How long do I need to attend therapy? Length of therapy depends on diagnosis, severity, contributing factors and amount of practice/application of skills. An estimation of length of treatment will be provided at the end of the assessment.
